Countdown to 10K! -- DAY 1
I knew that I wanted to start my training today because I had no excuse not to. It’s June 1 and a Saturday where we don’t have any plans.
Waking up this morning, I had zero interest in getting up. It was around 6am and Ryder decided he wanted to get up and go outside. It was already sticky and gross outside at 6am so I figured I could go back to bed or just suck it up and go straight out to train before it gets even hotter.
I thought it would be nice to train with some nice views so I went down to Vinoy Park in St. Pete. It was absolutely beautiful. The only people that were there were other walkers/runners so it wasn’t busy at all.
Today was a struggle. It was hot and my legs are super confused about what’s going on. The most important thing is that I went out and did it.
Since I’m just starting out, my plan is to do 3 days a week. I’m starting out with Couch to 5k and once I complete that I’ll do Couch to 10k. I have plenty of time since the race is in February but I wanted to start now so I can make sure I’m absolutely ready to go when February rolls around.
